REGIS Registration Process for Students

REGIS Registration Process for Students

As part of the Institute's ongoing efforts to ensure that all enrollments are reviewed and approved by academic advisors, the online registration process in REGIS is changing beginning with WI 2025-26.

Overview

  1. Preregistration Period – You create and submit a proposed schedule for your advisor's approval.
  2. Registration Period – After your schedule is approved, you officially enroll in your courses.
  3. Add Drop Period – REGIS is Closed; This is when students can continue to adjust their schedules by form.

You must have an approved schedule in REGIS before you will be able to click "Enroll" when the Registration Period begins.  You will have time to make your proposed schedule before your registration start time, which is when the Enrollment Button will appear.

Limited Seating Courses

During the Preregistration Period, there is no cap on the number of students that can request a Limited Seating course by adding it to their proposed schedule. It is possible that a larger number of students may add a course to their proposed schedule than the number of seats available in a given course.

Enrollment in Limited Seating courses will occur during the Registration Period on a first-come first-served basis when students click "Enroll" at their start time (see below for your start time). You can view how many students have requested a seat in a course by going to the Limited Seating Courses tab in REGIS.

Unlimited Seating Courses

Any unlimited seating courses approved during the Preregistration Period will be batch enrolled before the Registration Period.

WI 2025-26 Registration Timeline

Preregistration Period - November 20th to November 26th

During this time, you will:

  • Build your proposed schedule in REGIS
  • Submit it to your advisor for review and approval by November 26th to ensure your advisor has adequate time to review and approve before the Registration Period
  • Note: Proposed schedules do not reserve seats in classes during this phase
  • Once your advisor records their approval in REGIS, you will receive email notification
  • You should have an approved schedule by December 3rd to be ready to click ‘Enroll' when the Registration Period opens
  • Students should go to their advisor first. If unable to get a hold of them, you may go to your option representative. Option representatives can also view and approve your schedule in REGIS. Please ensure that the advisor is included in any correspondence between you and your option representative.
+In rare cases where both your advisor and option representative are not available, undergraduates may go to an undergraduate dean and graduates may go to a graduate dean.
