On August 9, connect with NASA Astronaut Jessica Watkins through a live question-and-answer downlink event hosted by JPL and Caltech about her as role a mission specialist on NASA's SpaceX Crew-4 mission to the International Space Station, which launched on April 27, 2022.

Formerly a Chair's Postdoctoral Scholar in Caltech's Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences (GPS) and California Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) Fellow, Watkins is making history as the first Black woman on the ISS crew.

Members of the Caltech community are invited to watch the livestream together inside Ramo Auditorium (note updated location) on August 9. Students, postdocs, faculty, and staff are all encouraged to take a break, enjoy some refreshments, and celebrate the historical accomplishments of a member of our community. A valid Caltech ID must be shown for entry, and masks must be worn inside the auditorium.

Refreshments served outside Ramo at 9:15 a.m.
Auditorium program begins at 9:45 a.m.
The NASA downlink livestream is slated to begin at 9:55 a.m.

The general public can watch the downlink livestream on NASA TV or NASA Live.
