Final Exams

Given the recent transitions to in-person final examinations across campus, the "Ad Hoc Five-Day Exam Period Implementation Steering Committee" has developed a final examination schedule to further support instructors and students.

Adopting this exam schedule is crucial for avoiding conflicts. In order to avoid conflicts in exam times, instructors' cooperation with the assigned examination times listed below is essential.

Approving course conflicts is likely to cause exam-time conflicts. All courses assigned to the same examination time window also overlap in their meeting time. Approving course conflict requests is likely to produce final examination conflicts. Therefore, please be mindful of potential final examination conflicts, and avoid consenting to a conflict requests that lead to exam-time conflicts.

This schedule works best if classes are offered during regular times, and if students do not take courses that have lecture meeting times conflicts. See the Course Scheduling page for information on regular course times.

Classes awaiting an OM to set meeting times should be scheduled at canonical times. If you'd like to have an in-class final exam, and have yet to set a meeting time, please choose a time that fits the canonical class times (MWF9-10, MWF10-11, MWF11-12, MWF1-2, MWF2-3, MWF3-4, TR9-10:30, TR10:30-12, TR1-2:30, TR2:30-4.) All courses scheduled for a canonical meeting time will be assigned the same final exam time as all other classes taught at that time.

The below in-person final exam schedule is based off of the current day/time listing. Please note that updates to a course's offering time may change the associated final exam time.

* Slots marked "Accommodations and Make-up Exams" are intended primarily for registered accommodations. Instructors should work with with CASS staff to ensure appropriate implementation of all CASS-approved accommodation requirements. Instructors may also consider limited use of these exam slots for make-up exams when that use does not create an exam conflict for the students that it impacts.

Some courses do not appear on the above schedule. These include non-academic courses, courses with an organizational meeting (OM), and courses that have indicated that they do not plan to hold an in-person final exam. Some classes that do appear on the schedule may also not have final exams. The final exam schedule will be updated to remove such classes as their instructors inform us of their plans.

Examples
1. A course meets MWF 9:00am - 9:55am. That falls under the canonical time MWF 9:00am - 10:00am, and it's exam is: TUESDAY 8:30am - 11:30am

2. A course meets TR 9:00am - 10:25am. That falls under the canonical time TR 9:00am - 10:30am, and it's exam is: MONDAY 8:30am - 11:30am

3. A course meets MW 2:30pm - 4:00pm. That falls under the canonical time MWF 3:00pm - 4:00pm, and it's exam is: FRIDAY 3:30pm - 6:30pm
